Our History
Our church was established as The Outreach for Christ Ministries in September of 1976 by Apostle Ivory L. Cummings; who went home to be with the Lord in 1995.
God had a purpose for this ministry in the City of Macon, GA. It was designed by God to be a "House of Prayer For All People." God said that the church would be a lighthouse; a sought out city that sitteth on a hill that cannot be hid (Isaiah 62:12). The ministry was built with much prayer and fasting. Many people testified that they joined because of the tenacity in prayer.
In 1996, Propehtess Brenda D. Howard was ordained as pastor and began to move the ministry forth. In June of 1999, the church name was changed to House of Prayer Christian Fellowship, Hope Worldwide Ministries, Incorporated to fulfill the vision. The ministry continues to grow and has truly become that "House of Prayer for All People" (Isaiah 56:7).
Since reorganizing, the church has been functioning under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and many aspects of the ministry began to come to fruition:
Our Prison Ministry, Youth Ministry (JAM, Jesus and ME), Men's Ministry (Men of Distinction), Women's Ministry (Women of Hope) are all ministries that are prospering and moving forward.
We also participate faithfully in several outreach programs; teaming with our city to support it's communities. The programs include: Nursing Homes, the Rescue Mission, Feed the Hungry Program, Meals on Wheels and much more.
